Bruce Wilkoff

Dr. Bruce Wilkoff is the Director of the Cardiac Pacing and Tachyarrhythmia Devices, a staff cardiologist and the Chief information officer for the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Section of Cardiac Pacemakers and Electrophysiology in the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart and Vascular Institute of the Cleveland Clinic and Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

He has a special interest in transvenous lead extraction, ICDs, CRT and medical informatics including integrating remote interrogation of Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Devices into the patient care pathway.

He has served since 1987 on the examination writing committee for IBHRE and is co-editor of the Clinical Cardiac Pacing, Defibrillation and Resynchronization Therapy, 4th edition, WB Saunders/Elsevier and author of over 250 peer reviewed manuscripts. Dr. Wilkoff is recognized as an international expert in the design of new technologies to improve the performance of pacemakers and defibrillators and holder of 6 US patents. He is President for 2011-2012 of the Heart Rhythm Society, the largest and most influential community of heart rhythm and device specialists.
